MOUNT BERRY, Ga. - Fresh off an appearance as part of one of the final 16 teams playing in D-III on the court, Berry rising senior
Jazzy Innis has been invited to take part of the upcoming USA D-3 Volleyball Teams - Brazil Tour 2023.
Innis, a Second Team AVCA All-American in 2022, joins nine other players representing seven different college and universities from eight different home states. In addition, 10 men's players from eight different schools and four different home states will join the tour to comprise teams of men's and women's D-III all-star teams.
"This is an outstanding group of young men and women." says Ron Smith of USA Sports Tours & Events. "Many of the players on this year's USA / Brazil Tour team had great individual seasons and led their teams into post season play." "This tour is designed to expose players to a great volleyball experience while providing a once in a lifetime opportunity for educational, cultural and social growth."
The USA D-3 Volleyball tour will run from June 12 through June 22. The teams will begin with orientation in Fort Lauderdale, Florida, on June 12th before the team flies to Sao Paulo, Brazil that evening.  The teams will practice & play on Tuesday the 13th in the city of Jundiai. The team will have a second match in the city of Campinas on the evening of Wednesday the 14th. The teams will then fly to Rio de Janeiro on Thursday, June 15th. The USA D-3 Volleyball Teams will co-host a youth skills clinic at the Marina Barra Clube in Rio on Saturday morning June 17th.
On Sunday, June 18th the teams will compete in the Marina Barra Clube "International Challenge" in the Barra neighborhood of Rio de Janeiro. Both the men's & women's teams will play 2 matches. Barra is the same part of Rio that the 2016 Olympic Village and most venues were located. Â
While in Brazil the teams will experience educational, cultural, and social aspects of Brazilian life through city, school, and sports club visits. While in Rio the team will be staying on the world-famous Copacabana Beach and touring the Christ the Redeemer Statue and Sugar Loaf Mountain, two of the most recognizable landmarks in the world. Â
