Berry got a win in doubles and two wins in singles, but it wasn't enough as the Vikings fell 5-3 to Centre in Southern Athletic Association women's tennis action from Danville, Ky., Sunday morning.
A day after taking the current ITA D-III Doubles national champions to a tiebreak, Berry's
Juliana Mascagni and
Lauren Masteller earned an 8-5 win at the No. 1 slot for Berry in doubles action. Mascagni would rally from a set down in singles play to win the final two sets and her match at the No. 1 singles position as well.
Lacey Craig used a pair of breaks in the second set to earn a straight-sets victory at No. 3 singles for BC. Masteller was up two breaks in the first set of her match at No. 2 singles when play was stopped as Centre reached the five wins needed to win the dual.
The Vikings will be back in action Saturday at Rhodes, followed by a contest next Sunday at Hendrix to close out the SAA regular season.
