Box Score Berry fell to Washington & Lee in the finale of the D3 Baseball Showcase in Kannapolis, N.C., 9-4 Sunday afternoon.

The Vikings took a 2-1 lead in the third inning. Levi Cloud led off with a single and then came around to score on Joey Garcia's triple. Zachary Hardee would score Garcia with a ground out to put the Vikings ahead.

The score stayed the same until the fourth when the Generals scored a pair of runs to take the lead for good. Single runs in the fifth and seventh built to a four-run eighth inning that made it 9-2.

Berry (2-6) would mount a rally in the ninth with one out. Caleb Spikes and Zac Warren would single to bring up Nick Brunswick. The junior would lace a double to bring home both runners to make it 9-4.

The Vikings will break for midterms before returning to the diamond this Friday when they play host to Greensboro in the opener of a three-game set. First pitch is set for 5 p.m.
