Levi Cloud drove in three runs, but a see-saw contest would fall away from Berry as Susquehanna defeated the Vikings 10-9 in 11 innings at the D3 Baseball Showcase in Kannapolis, N.C.

Cloud's first RBI came as part of a four-run first inning for BC. His RBI single plated a run, with John D'Amelio adding an RBI on a sacrifice fly and Joey Garcia plating a run with a single. With Berry up 4-1, Cloud would score Berry's fifth run thanks to another Garcia RBI single in the third.

As quickly as Berry (2-5) built the lead, the lead would slip away in the bottom of the third. A five-run home half of the third would make it a 6-5 contest, seemingly setting the tone for the rest of the way.

The Vikings answered back in the fourth. With the bases loaded, Cloud would single home a pair to give Berry a 7-6 lead. Wesley Wade would then make it 8-6 with a sacrifice fly. Susquehanna would score single runs in the bottom of the fourth and fifth to tie the game again.

The score stayed the same until the ninth when Berry went ahead. With two men out and Wade on second, freshman Garrett Lang singled to bring in Wade and make it 9-8.

Susquehanna (4-0) though would answer in the bottom of the inning, tying the game and sending it to extras. In the 11th, a one out single would close the game out as Susquehanna walked it off.

Three of Berry's last four losses have come via teams scoring in their last at bat.

Berry's next contest will be against Washington & Lee Sunday afternoon.
