Box Score The No.25-ranked Berry Vikings (4-1, 2-1 SAA) defeated Southwestern University 52-10 in the two programs first ever Southern Athletic Association showdown in Georgetown, Tx. on Saturday afternoon.

           The Viking defense got the day started forcing a fumble that was recovered by
Nick Willis on the Southwestern 21.
Brandon Cade quickly cashed in on the opportunity with a 21-yard touchdown. Berry completed the two-point conversion to make it 8-0.
           As the Pirates attempted to answer the Vikings touchdown, they found themselves facing a third and nine situation, but
Brock Skinner continued the early dominance with a sack for a loss of seven yards.
           On Berry's third drive of the afternoon they put together a 12-play drive highlighted by a 17-yard
Tarin Westbrook catch moving the chains past midfield.
Blake Hembree and
Bryce Herring connected for a 35-yard touchdown just before the end of the first quarter.
    The Viking offense poked holes in the Pirate defense both on the ground and in the air. Berry chipped away on a 62-yard touchdown drive ending in a Cade touchdown, his second of the day.Â
The Viking passing game continued to prevail against the Pirates, this time
Nate Lyons got in on the action with a 35-yard catch, adding another six on the board for Berry just before the end of the half.

    Southwestern continued to lack answers for Berry on both sides of the ball moving into the third quarter. The Viking defense came up with a sack for a loss of eight yards. Berry special teams got a piece of the pie as
Cade Petty blocked a punt, which was recovered by
Dreshawn Stevens for a touchdown.
    The Viking defense came up with their fourth sack of the day, this time Cole Carver and
Colby Brookshire teamed up, refusing to let the Pirates past midfield.
    The run game set Berry up for yet another touchdown,
Colby Sikes and Cade chipped away the yards setting up Herring for his second touchdown of the game. Hembree kept rolling in the pocket for the final six points of the game, connecting with
Khamari Smith in the endzone for 34 yards.

The Berry offense put a total of 535 yards on the day, and averaged 7.8 yards per play.

The Vikings return to action on Saturday as they host Millsaps for Mountain Day. Kickoff is set for 6 p.m. at Valhalla Stadium.
