Berry's women's tennis team continued its good run of Southern Athletic Association play with a 7-2 win at Birmingham-Southern on Saturday.
The win puts the Vikings at 7-3 overall and 3-0 in the SAA with another road contest still to come this weekend.
In line one of the doubles competition,
Allison Ivey and
Juliana Mascagni played in a close matchup that would see them fall by score of 8-5.
Lacey Craig and
Lauren Masteller made a dominant run in line two, recording an 8-3 win for the Vikings, with
Adelle Yanez and
Emma Kruger winning at line three by the same score.
Ivey and Mascagni would get their revenge in the singles competition by winning in a convincing fashion against their respective opponents. Ivey almost shutout her opponent with set scores of 6-0 and 6-1. Mascagni won both of her singles sets by score of 6-4.
Yanez would also win in an assuring fashion at line three, 6-1, 6-2.
Emma Kruger and
Ally Gray would round out the singles competion with wins for the Vikings at lines five and six.
The Vikings will travel to Jackson, Miss. on Sunday, April 10
th to face SAA foe, Millsaps College. The first match is set to begin at 10:00 a.m.
