The No. 2-seeded Berry Vikings women's tennis team beat No.7-seeded Oglethorpe Unviersity 6-1 on Friday in the first round of the Southern Athletic Association conference championship tournament at the Adams Tennis Complex in Murfreesboro, Tenn.
Allison Ivey continued her undefeated singles conference run in convincing fashion, but set scores of 6-1 and 6-0.
Kathryn Barker would do the same in line three with a score of 6-2 in both sets.
Lauren Masteller and
Emma Kruger, representing lines five and six, respectively, would post identical set scores of 6-1 and 6-0. It was a dominant day in the singles matches for the Vikings.
In line two of the doubles competition, Barker and Masteller would sweep their opponent to add to the Vikings' overall score.
Adelle Yanez and Kruger would partner up for another big doubles win by score of 8-3.
The Vikings will play the #3-seeded Rhodes Lynx in the semi-finals of the tournament back in Murfreesboro at 3 p.m. EST on Saturday.
