MOUNT BERRY, Ga.- The No.10-ranked Berry Vikings (22-4, 13-1 SAA) punched their ticket to the Southern Athletic Association championship game by defeating Oglethorpe (14-13, 7-7 SAA)in three sets (25-17, 25-13, 25-21) on Saturday night in the Cage Center.

Peyton Breissinger all recorded over 20 digs a piece out of the 83 that the Vikings tallied in total.
The Stormy Petrels were able to keep up with the Vikings to begin the first set, taking a one point lead 7-6 early on. That was short lived for Oglethrope, as the Vikings would proceed to go on a 9-1 scoring running up to a 14-8 lead. Innis put down the 25th point of the set for the Vikings, just two sets away from clinching their spot in the championship.
The Vikings won the second set 25-13, totalling 19 kills. Jen Aton aced Ogelthorpe on the first point, seeing to that Berry got off to a hot start. The Vikings put down five consecutive kills to push their lead to 10-3.
Cypress Guenther then put down a point dead center of the court, Berry approaching match point, 23-10.
A slightly more contested third set didn't stop Berry from finishing out the game strong, sealing the victory 25-21. The Stormy Petrels put up a fight at the end coming within three points of the Vikings 24-21, but Breissinger had the final word of the night.
Breissinger had the double-double with 14 kills and 23 digs,
Emily Rapach had 26 assists, and Guenther led the team in blocks with three total.
The Vikings look to play in the conference championship game on Sunday at 1 p.m., facing Birmingham Southern in the Cage Center.
