The No.8-ranked Berry Vikings (20-4, 13-1 SAA) defeated Washington and Lee (18-10) in the reverse sweep (20-25, 23-25, 25-20, 25-15, 15-6), but lost to No.11-ranked Emory in four sets (26-24, 23-25, 19-25, 21-25) on Saturday morning wrapping up their weekend at the Emory National Invitational in Atlanta. Jazzy Innis and Olivia Mallow were named as all tournament team selections.

Match one

Washington and Lee took the first set 25-20, even though the Vikings hit for .321% in the set as opposed to the Generals who hit for .258%. Berry and Washinton and Lee found themselves within a few points of one another for most of the set, but the Generals pulled away going on a 6-1 scoring run putting them at 21-16.
The Generals won the second set in a closer match, 25-23. The Vikings saw a 12-7 lead early in the set, but inching closer, the Generals went on a five point unanswered run, tying up the Vikings at 16-16. After a kill from Innis, the two were tied yet again at 22-22, but Washinton and Lee delivered two kills in the final points leaving Berry vulnerable.
Berry won the third set 25-20, putting down 18 total kills. The Vikings took a slight early lead 10-7 after a kill from Cypress Guenther. Berry continued to capitalize off that lead as they scored six points in row, four of them kills forcing the Generals into a timeout.
The Vikings played off their momentum from the third set into the fourth winning 25-15. After already gaining a big lead of 10-4 on Washington and Lee, Berry put up seven more unanswered.
The Vikings scored six in a row to start the fifth set, cruising to a 15-6 set win. The final kill was laid down by Peyton Breissinger. Berry left Washington and Lee hitting in the negatives in the final two sets of the game.
Bressinger and Innis double-doubled, Innis recorded 14 kills and 13 digs, and Bressinger with 16 kills and 15 digs also contributing 20.5 points. Emily Rapach set up 50 assists, and Kate Whittle had a solid match in the back row with 37 digs, now averaging 5.95 digs per set. The Vikings put up 17 total blocks, the most a team has put up since 2016. Molly Bergin, Mallow, and Guenther all contributed seven a piece.
