Rome, Ga. – Returning home for two conference showdowns, the Berry College women's soccer team had two exciting performances vs. Hendrix and Rhodes on Friday and Sunday. The Vikings defeated both teams 1-0.
Berry improves to 3-2 overall and 2-1 in SAA play.
Freshman
Christina Marijanich played like a four-year veteran, scoring both winning and only goals in each game over the weekend. Defensively, defender
Maggie Packard was essential in both shutouts.
In Friday's game vs. Hendrix, Marijanich would score the goal right before halftime. The Viking defense played hard all game, allowing zero opportunities for the Warriors to get a shot on goal.
On Sunday, Marijanich scored early in the first and was assisted by
Maeve McDougal. Overall, the Vikings played aggressive and had nine shots on goal to Rhodes' zero.
