Demorest, Ga. – The Berry College women's lacrosse team opened up the season with a 14-10 win at Piedmont on Tuesday night. Freshmen
Haley Larsen and
Abby Sprayberry each had four goals with Larsen winning six draw controls and adding one assist and Sprayberry winning five draw controls and adding three assists. Sophomore
Riley Norris added two goals and two assists.
Senior goalkeeper,
Andrea Lindgren, had an incredible game recording 11 saves.
The Vikings took the early 1-0 lead before trading blows with the Lions for the majority of the first half. With the score tied at 5 at the half, Berry claimed the first point of the second half to go up 6-5, but Piedmont came out strong and outscored the Vikings 4-2 and went up 9-7 with just 16 minutes left to play. Down two, Berry went on a seven goal scoring streak, six of the seven goals being assisted, to secure the 14-10 win.
The Vikings are back in action on Saturday when they host Huntingdon College at 9 a.m.
