Box Score 2 ROME, Ga. — The No. 17 Berry College softball team secured a doubleheader sweep against Covenant College this afternoon, improving to 10-2 overall.
Madison Hollis secured the win in game one, tossing 4.0 innings allowing no earned runs. Lauren Baccari threw 5.0 shutout innings in game two to earn her third win of the year.
The Vikings plated a pair in the second inning of game one off the bats of Brooke Whittemore and Baccari. Berry then exploded in the third, plating seven runs to put the game out of reach. Berry again struck first in game two off a two-RBI single from Bayleigh Masterson. The Vikings chipped away scoring a run in the second and two in the fourth before securing the run-rule win in the fifth inning.
Berry will host Hiram tomorrow at 5/7:00 p.m.
