Box Score ROME, Ga. — The Berry College baseball team claimed the third and final game of the weekend series with the Emory & Henry College Wasps on Sunday in a 20-6 blowout.
The win evens Berry's record at 2-2 on the year. Freshman Garrett West claimed his first career victory, tossing 4.0 innings.
HIGHLIGHTS:
- The Wasps were able to plate a pair of runs in the top of the first inning off the bat of Ben Sexton and Corbin Hockensmith.
- E&H tacked on another run in the second before an offensive explosion by Berry in the home half of the inning that saw nine Vikings cross the plate.
- Berry scored four more in the third and fifth innings, leading 17-5 heading into the sixth.
- E&H scored once more in the top of the sixth on a Hockensmith ground out, but the lead was too great as Berry scored three more runs to close out the game.
