Box Score ROME, Ga. — After falling behind 2-0 to the Sewanee Tigers in the Southern Athletic Association (SAA) semifinals this afternoon, the Berry College volleyball team rallied to pull off a fitting reverse-sweep and advance to their second straight SAA Tournament Finals tomorrow afternoon.
The win pushed the No. 17 Vikings' overall record to 24-3 on the season and extended their winning streak at the Cage Center to 27-straight matches.
HOW IT HAPPENED:
- Despite jumping out to a 10-4 lead in the opening set, Sewanee battled back and kept things tight the rest of the way. A four-point run by the Tigers at the end of the set secured a 1-0 lead on a 26-24 set score.
- Sewanee maintained all of the momentum in set two, claiming it by a 25-15 score.
- Berry finally began to click in the third set, hitting .281 en route to a 25-14 score to push the match to 2-1.
- In a more tightly contested fourth set, Berry hit .250 and tied the match with a 25-20 final.
- Berry dominated the fifth set, hitting .556.
