Box Score ATLANTA — The Berry College men's soccer team saw its season come to a close in a 3-2 overtime heartbreaker against the reigning Southern Athletic Association (SAA) Champions, Oglethorpe University in a Friday night semifinal matchup.
The Vikings will close the season at 10-5-2, advancing to the SAA semifinals for the second straight season.
HOW IT HAPPENED:
- Berry's Steven Moore put the Vikings ahead early with a goal in the 8th minute of play off an assist from Jake Williamson.
- Oglethorpe answered not long after in the 19th minute, off an unassisted free kick from Josh Bronstorph.
- The game remained 1-1 at halftime.
- Neither team could find the back of the net until Moore scored once more in the 85th minute to put the Vikings up 2-1.
- The Stormy Petrels wasted no time scoring the equalizer, tallying in the 86th minute.
- After Berry suffered a red card in overtime, Oglethorpe's Topher Marshall scored off a rebound to seal the win.
