MOUNT BERRY, Ga. – Rallying for six runs in the bottom of the fifth inning, the Berry College softball team took the three-game sweep over Rhodes College on Sunday to claim their fifth straight SAA regular season title. The Vikings defeated the Lynx 7-2.

HOW IT HAPPENED:

• Kayla Sangrey hit a line drive down the third base line to score Sarah Moore and give Berry their first lead of the game in the top of the first inning.
• A single and a fielder's choice in the top of the second put Rhodes on top, 2-1.
• The Lynx would lead 2-1 until the bottom of the fifth.
• Elisabeth Federici then singled to left field to knock in both Meredith Wrye and Kylie Aiken, giving the Vikings' a 3-1 lead.
• Sangrey scored on an error by the first baseman to expand the lead to 4-1, and back-to-back base hits by Karlie Jarrett and Brittany Ferrell ensured Berry's 7-2 victory.
• On the day, Berry outhit Rhodes 9-4.
• The Vikings also committed no errors to Rhodes' three.

• With the win, Berry improves to 32-2 overall on the year, as well as 14-0 in the Southern Athletic Association, claiming their fifth-straight SAA regular season title.
• Rhodes falls to 20-17 and 8-7.
