MOUNT BERRY, Ga. - The Berry bats lit up on Friday night to push the Vikings baseball team past the Millsaps College Majors with a 12-2 final in seven innings. 

HOW IT HAPPENED:

• The Majors plated one in the top of the second off a sacrifice fly by Andy Page. 
• The Vikings answered in the bottom half of the inning, plating three off the bats of Jason Rose, Austin Haight and Alfred Francis. Berry led 3-1.
• Cavan Breland hit an RBI single in the fourth to push the score to 3-2. 
• Francis hit a triple to right center in the bottom of the fourth to score Devin Post. Slade Dale then hit a sacrifice fly to score Francis, giving Berry a 5-2 lead. 
• The Berry offense did not relent in the sixth and seventh innings, as the Vikings would score seven runs on nine hits to ensure the run-rule victory.

NOTABLES:

• Alfred Francis was 5-for-5 on the day, increasing his season hit total to 58, just six short of the Berry single-season record. He was also a hit short of tying the single-game record for hits.
• Berry is now 20-18 overall and 9-10 in conference play. 
• Trey Rampy earned the win, throwing 5.0 innings while only allowing two runs.
