CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. – The Vikings rallied from behind for 15 hits, as they defeated Birmingham-Southern College 9-3 in the second round of the SAA Tournament on Friday.
HOW IT HAPPENED:
- The Panthers jumped out to an early 2-0 lead, scoring a run in both the top of the first and the second innings.
- Berry then rallied for four runs in the bottom of the second inning beginning with a two-RBI single from Sarah Moore. Marie Collop and Kenzie Fleming then hit back-to-back doubles to give Berry the 4-2 lead.
- The Vikings added runs in the bottom of the fourth and fifth innings off doubles from Brittany Ferrell and Elisabeth Federici.
- Berry added three runs of insurance in the sixth to ensure the win after a triple from Brittany Ferrell, a single from Kylie Aiken and a double from Sarah Moore.
- Five players added at least two hits for Berry in the win as well, and five Vikings also hit a double on the day.
