MONTGOMERY, Ala. – The Berry College softball team opened up their season with two run-rule wins against Huntingdon College on Saturday afternoon. Game scores were 14-3 and 9-0.
HOW IT HAPPENED:
- Kenzie Fleming opened up the Vikings' scoring in the first inning of the first game, singling to second base to score Brittany Tuttle and move the score to 1-0.
- Huntingdon then scored two runs in the bottom of the first to regain the lead.
- An RBI double by Brittany Ferrell, as well as a two-RBI homer from Tuttle in the bottom of the second inning put Berry ahead 4-2. The Vikings never trailed again.
- The Vikings outhit the Hawks 11-4 in the first outing, and six players added extra base hits in the victory.
- Berry then scored three runs in the first, second and fourth innings of the second game, ensuring the 9-0 win.
- The Vikings outhit the Hawks 8-2, and Elisabeth Federici added the only extra base hit of the game.

NOTABLES:
- With the wins, Berry improves to a perfect 2-0 on the season.
- Kassie Howard earned the win on the mound in the first game for Berry (5 IP, 2 hits, 1 ER, 7 SO, 6 BB).
- Whitney Gribble earned the win in game two (3IP, 1 hit, 1 SO).
