Berry Baseball Beats LaGrange, 15-5

THOMASVILLE, Ga. -- Brady Smith was a perfect 5-for-5 as the Berry College baseball team defeated LaGrange College, 15-5, on Tuesday afternoon in seven innings.

The win improved the 22nd-ranked Vikings to 14-4. The loss dropped the Panthers to 10-9.

BC added runs in five of the seven innings.

Smith had two doubles, four RBIs and three runs in the outing.

Both Slade Dale and Casey Whitaker contributed three hits apiece in the win as well. Grant Perkins and Dusty Tyson each had two hits and two RBIs.

For the Panthers, Tavin Thompson led the offense with three hits on the afternoon. Thompson also contributed a run in the loss.

Ben Jernigan (2-1) earned the win on the mound for BC. Jernigan tossed five complete innings, allowed only nine hits and three earned runs and struck out five.

The Vikings will host Hendrix College in their next SAA match-up this weekend.
