Baseball Wins at Maryville, 8-3

MARYVILLE, Tenn. -- The Berry College baseball team knocked 12 hits in a 8-3 win at Maryville on Tuesday afternoon.

BC moved to 18-8 and Maryville dropped to 18-7.

The Vikings plated one run in the first inning and never trailed in the contest. Berry led 8-0 heading to the bottom of the ninth inning, before the Scots tacked on three runs for the 8-3 result. 

Greg Keel went 2-for-3 with a double and three RBI for BC. Devin Post was 2-of-5 with a run batted in. Casey Whitaker hit a solo home run in his lone at-bat.

Trey Rampy (4-2) started for the Vikings and got the win. He worked three innings, allowed no runs and gave up two hits. Six pitchers took the mound for the visitors after Rampy and JP Chamblee earned the save.

Zach Blonder and Logan Jenkins both recorded two hits for Maryville. Scot starter Austin Delozier (1-1) took the defeat.

The Vikings host Rhodes College this weekend. The first game of their SAA three-game series is at 2 p.m. on Friday.
