DANVILLE, Ky. -- Grant Perkins was 4-for-5 with a double and had five RBI as Berry College defeated Centre College, 16-4 in eight innings, on Sunday afternoon.

The Vikings, which prevented a Colonel series sweep, improved to 17-8 and 4-5 in Southern Athletic Association play. CC dropped to 12-9, 3-6.

Centre plated three runs off BC starter Ryan O'Connnell in the first inning. The Vikings, however, responded with five runs in the second inning and never looked back.

O'Connell improved to 3-1 and allowed four runs. Trey Rampy tossed three scoreless frames and Evan Mather worked the final inning for Berry.

Berry knocked 14 hits to Centre's eight. Slade Dale went 3-of-5 and had two RBI for the Vikings. Ben Jernigan and Devin Skelton both collected two hits in the victory.

Greyson Evans was 2-for-4 with two RBI to lead Centre.

The Vikings play at Maryville College on Tuesday.
