Volleyball Splits At Home Against Hendrix, Texas Luthern

MOUNT BERRY, GA - The Berry College volleyball team took on both No. 25 Hendrix and Texas Lutheran for a day full of matches on Saturday. The Vikings fell to Hendrix, 3-0, but defeated Texas Lutheran in straight sets in an evening match to end the day.

HOW IT HAPPENED:

  • Set scores against Hendrix were 25-21, 25-21 and 25-15 at the start of the day. 
  • Set scores were 25-22, 25-21 and 25-18 against Texas Lutheran.
  • The Vikings ended the day with a total of 71 kills and 132 digs.

BERRY STATISTICAL STANDOUTS:

  • Katie Truluck: 48 digs
  • Emily Hancock: 15 kills, 24 digs
  • Jessica Gum: 18 kills
  • Hannah Kate Thompson: 60 asists, 12 digs

HENDRIX STATISTICAL STANDOUTS:

  • Sara Dyslin: 12 kills 4 digs, .571 attack percentage
  • Lauren Dwyer: 9 kills, 4 digs

TEXAS LUTHERAN STATISTICAL STANDOUTS:

  • Jaci Chambers: 28 assists, 13 digs
  • Carlie Childres: 10 kills, 3 digs, .474 hit percentage

NOTABLES:

  •  Berry is now 15-8 overall on the season and 7-4 in the conference.

UP NEXT:

 The Vikings will take on Rhodes tomorrow for a conference game at 2pm at home.
