Volleyball Blanks Millsaps, 3-0

JACKSON, Miss. -- Emily Stromberg had a double-double as the Berry College volleyball team defeated Millsaps College in three straight sets on Sunday afternoon. Set scores were 27-25, 25-16, and 25-18.

The win improved BC to 9-3 overall and 1-1 in the Southern Athletic Association. The loss dropped the Majors to 5-7 and 1-2.

Stromberg led the Vikings with 10 kills and 12 digs in the victory. Jessica Gum added to the BC offense with seven kills, hitting .500 on the day.

Katie Truluck led the defense with 17 digs. Lauren Schmitz dished 32 assists as well.

"I thought we did a great job learning from our mistakes yesterday and bringing more energy today," said Vikings' Head Coach Mika Robinson. "Millsaps--as always--stayed aggressive and relentless throughout the match, but we did a great job keeping our composure in the long rallies."

For the Majors, Olivia Kleyer spiked 10 kills in the loss.

Berry will host Oglethorpe University in their next SAA match-up on Wednesday, Sept. 24 at 7 p.m.
