Vikes Edged at Emory, 2-1

ATLANTA, Ga.-- Connor Garrett scored the Viking's only goal of the game, as Emory University defeated the Berry College men's soccer team, 2-1, on Saturday.

The match moved both the Vikes and the Eagles to 2-3-1.

BC fell behind, 1-0, on a goal from the Eagles' Darion Morgan in the 44th minute. Connecting off a cross from Jason McCartney, Morgan gave Emory the lead going into the second half.

However, Garrett's unassisted takeaway goal in the 74th minute evened the score at one apiece.

The Eagles' then regained the lead and the victory on a 87th minute goal from Christian Meyer. Matt Sherr earned the assist on the play. 

The Vikings' starting goalie, Zachary Wroblewski, had five saves and only allowed one goal in his sixty minutes of work. Jake Dorion finished the remaining twenty-nine minutes in the goal for Berry, collecting three saves and allowing one goal.

Berry had a total of six shots in the loss.

The Vikings will play next on Sunday, Sept. 20, at Ford Field against Translvania. Game start time is scheduled for 1 p.m.
