Box Score 2 BIRMINGHAM -- The Berry College softball team split its Southern Athletic Association doubleheader at Birmingham-Southern on Saturday. The Panthers took game 1, 3-0, while the Vikings prevailed in the nightcap, 6-2.
In game one, Panther pitcher Brittany Fronk held BC to 3 hits and earned the shutout. The game was scoreless through 4 innings, but then BSC plated single runs in the next 3 frames for the final margin.
Kayla Davis started for Berry and took the loss. She allowed 6 hits and 3 earned runs.
In the nightcap, Allie Coronado got her her first victory of the year. She tossed a complete game and allowed just 2 hits and 2 runs.
Sarah Moore went 2-for-3 with 2 RBI to lead BC hitters. Kylie Aiken and Ally Claytor also had 2 singles in the game.
The Vikings (5-3, 1-1 SAA) and Panthers (5-3, 1-1) play another doubleheader in Birmingham on Sunday afternoon.
