Baseball drops twin bill at Maryville

MARYVILLE, Tenn. -- Berry College lost a doubleheader--both games by a score of 4-0--on Tuesday. The Vikings dropped to 8-9 on the year. The Scots moved to 13-5.

Game one was a pitcher's duel as Maryville totaled 3 hits to BC's 2. Devin Skelton went 2-3 with a double to lead Berry hitters. Chris Ervin went 2-for-3 with a home run and 3 RBI to lead Maryville.

Michael Greene started for the Vikings and pitched 2 1/3 innings. He allowed all 3 MC runs and took the defeat. Glen Williamson and Jacob Bowman worked in relief for Berry.

In the nightcap, 3 Scot pitchers held the Vikes to just 4 hits. Starter Jerrod Dickey threw 4 innings and got the win. Berry's Ryan O'Connell (0-2) took the defeat.

Greg Keel went 1-for-2 with a stolen base to lead the BC offense.

Berry hosts Sewanee on Friday.
