DANVILLE, Ky. - - Melissa Sanchez had four saves in goal, but the Berry College women's soccer team fell to Centre College, 4-0, on Friday afternoon in a Southern Athletic Association semifinal match.
BC ends the season with a record of 10-6-1. The win improved the Colonels to 16-1-1, advancing them to the SAA championship match.
Sanchez took the loss in goal for BC, garnering four saves and allowing four goals in her 90 minutes of work.
Alex Combs led the Colonels' offense, scoring two goals in the win. Shelby Ratcliff and Nancy Ingham each added goals as well. Destinie Graves earned assists on both Ingham's tally and Combs' second score.
Centre led 3-0 going into halftime. Combs' 59th minute goal moved the final score to 4-0.
For the Vikings, Sara Dillon, Tessa Piety and Anna McNulty each had shots.
Centre led the game in both shots (12-3) and corner kicks (4-2).
