BC Men's Soccer Defeats Millsaps, 3-1

ROME, Ga. -  Steven Moore tallied twice and had one assist as the Berry College men's soccer team defeated Millsaps College, 3-1, Friday afternoon.

The win improved the Vikes to 4-4-2 overall and 1-1 in the Southern Athletic Association. The Majors dropped to 8-3 and 2-1.

The three goals tied BC's highest score for the season. Scoring once in each half, Moore was the first Viking to notch two goals in one game this year as well.

BC's first goal came in the twentieth minute from Alex Rotoloni. Finding the back of the net off of a rebounded shot from Moore, Rotoloni put the Vikes ahead, 1-0. 

Moore. a freshman, recorded his first goal of the game in the 36th minute. Receiving a pass from Daniel Shaw, Moore then broke away past two defenders to move the score to, 2-0, at the half.

The Majors' lone goal came from Garcia Javier in the fiftieth minute. Scoring in the lower corner of the goal off a cross-field pass from Roth Nico, Javier pushed the score to, 2-1.

Moore finished the Berry offensive effort with his second goal in the seventy-ninth minute. Assisted by Caleb Ford, Moore found the left upper corner of the goal to seal the win, 3-1.

The Vikings led the game in shots (12-10), while the Majors led the game in corner kicks (5-4).

Zachary Wroblewski (4-2-1) added five saves in goal for the Vikes.

BC hosts Birmingham-Southern College in their next SAA match on Sunday, Oct. 11. Game start is 12:30 p.m. at Ford Field.
