Vikings Blank Tigers, 2-0

SEWANEE, Tenn. -- With two goals from freshman Steven Moore, the Berry College men's soccer team defeated Sewanee, 2-0, on Friday night. 

The win improved the Vikings to 7-6-2 overall and 3-3 in the Southern Athletic Association. The loss dropped the Tigers to 5-11-1 and 1-6. 

Neither team found a way to score in the first half, leaving the game tied, 0-0, going into halftime.

Moore's first tally in the sixty-third minute gave Berry the 1-0 lead. Christian Roberts earned the assist on the play.

Moore tacked on another goal in the eighty-seventh minute. Moore's unassisted goal solidified the Viking victory, pushing the score to 2-0. 

Zachary Wroblewski earned the shutout in goal for Berry, collecting four saves in his 90 minutes of work. 

Will Merriman took the loss at goalkeeper for the Tigers. Merriman earned one save and allowed two goals on the night. 

Berry led the game in shots (14-12), while Sewanee led the game in corner kicks (4-2).

The Vikings' host Centre College in their final SAA regular season match-up of the year on Sunday, Oct. 25. The game is the men's soccer Pack the House event and is slated to start at 12 p.m.
