Men's Soccer Shutout by Rhodes, 2-0

MEMPHIS, Tenn.  - Although both the Vikings and the Lynx had an equal four shots on goal, the Berry College men's soccer team was shutout, 2-0, by Rhodes College on Sunday afternoon. 

The loss dropped the Vikings to 5-6-2 overall and 2-3 in the Southern Athletic Association. The win improved the Lynx to 6-4-4 and 2-1-3. 

The first goal of the game came early in the second half. Austin Ly passed the ball into the box to Evan Wladlis. Wladlis then finished the play with a shot into the top left corner of the goal, putting the Lynx ahead, 1-0.

Rhodes College moved the scored to, 2-0, less than ten minutes later. Finding the back of the net off a rebounded kick, Davis Neitzschman secured the Lynx victory with his fifty-five minute tally. 

Rhodes led the game in both shots (15-11) and corner kicks (6-3).

For the Vikes, Ben Ebersole had three shots in the loss. Steven Moore added two shots as well, both of which were on goal.

Zachary Wroblewski took the loss in goal, collecting two saves while allowing two goals in his 77 minutes and 41 seconds of work. Jake Doiron finished the game in goal for BC.

The Vikings will host Huntingdon College in their next game on Tuesday, Oct. 20. Game time is scheduled for 4 p.m. at Ford Field.
