Box Score

GREENSBORO, N.C. -- Freshman Bobby Grunow scored from Matt Williams in the final minute of regulation play as Berry College won at Greensboro College, 1-0, on Friday afternoon.

The Vikings improved to 5-3 and The Pride dropped to 3-5.

Greensboro committed a foul with 18 seconds left which gave the Vikings a free kick near midfield. Williams then booted the ball near the goal before Grunow headed it home from about 15 yards.

In an evenly matched contest without a lot of great scoring chances, BC led in shots (14-13) and corner kicks (6-2).

"Today was a great all-around performance and we created enough chances to deserve the win," said Berry Head Coach Richard Vardy. "Greensboro was a tough opponent and road wins are always nice--especially in the manner it happened. Our defense had a great day, too."

Jon Nelson had four saves for the Vikings. Greensboro keeper Logan Rohde stopped two Berry shots.

The Vikings play at Averett University in Danville, Virginia on Saturday.
