Vikes upended by #8 Emory, 1-0

ROME, Ga. – Berry College lost to visiting Emory University, 1-0, at Ford Field on Saturday. 

The Vikings dropped to 4-2 and the Eagles—ranked eighth in the current NSCAA national poll—improved to 6-0-1.

The lone tally came in the 13th minute. EU's Jason Andrejchak scored his fourth goal of the year off an assist from Dylan Price.

For the match, Berry and Emory were even in shots (11-11) and corner kicks (4-4).

Jon Nelson recorded four saves for the home team.

"We had a good effort today against the top team in our region," said BC Head Coach Richard Vardy. "We started a bit slow, but came on in the second half. We had good chances, but did not finish. We will regroup and get ready for our next tough match."

The Vikings travel to play at Covenant College on Tuesday night.
