Box Score ROME, Ga. -- Ben Jernigan's arm and the bat of Alex McGill led Berry College to an 8-3 win over visiting Hendrix on Sunday. With the win, Berry (21-10, 10-5 SAA) took the rubber match of the three-game series.
Jernigan tossed a complete game and improved to 7-2 for the season. He allowed three runs, scattered eight hits, struck out five Warriors and gave up no walks.
McGill went 2-4 with a triple, home run, four RBI and scored twice.
BC had 13 hits in the contest. TC Boyd went 3-5 with a run, one RBI and stole one base. Stephen Gaylor was 2-5 with two runs, a double and a stolen base. McTier Mosley made the most of his first start: He went 2-4 with a double and an RBI.
The game was tied at 3-3 when the home team plated three runs in the bottom of the fourth inning to pull away from HC. The Vikings added two insurance runs in the seventh frame.
Wyatt Hogna recorded three hits for Hendrix (16-13, 8-7).
The Vikings host Covenant on Tuesday at 6 p.m.
