Sewanee--ranked 19th nationally--improved to 20-3. Berry ended its year with a 17-2 record--its only losses to the Tigers.
Despite the score, the match was competitive--particulary in doubles. Scores at #2 and #3 doubles were both 9-7.
Heidi Seabaugh had a great singles match and won in straight sets, 6-3 sand 6-1.
Additionally, Emma O'Reilly played number one singles and doubles spots all weekend with an injury.
"Emma really put the team first," said Head Coach Clay Hightower. "If she wasn't struggling through that injury and playing for us against Birmingham-Southern in the semifinals, we wouldn't have won."
Senior team captain Caitlin Smith finished her Berry tennis career.
"I've really enjoyed these past 4 years. I'm so proud of my team for getting to the finals this season and I'm going to miss being a part of the Berry tennis team," said Smith.
