Box Score SEWANEE, Tenn. -- The Beat goes on for Berry baseball.
The Vikings won its sixth straight game after defeating Sewanee, 8-4. on Sunday.
BC swept the series from the Tigers and moved to 12-4 and 5-1 in the Southern Athletic Association. Berry is tied with Birmingham-Southern for first place. Sewanee dropped to 5-7, 0-6.
The game was tied 3-3 heading to the eighth inning. Berry then tallied five runs in the top of the eighth to help secure the win.
Dusty Tyson went 3-5 with two runs scored, a double, three stolen bases and an RBI. Zach Farmer was 2-3 and had an RBI double in the eighth inning. Will Heard added two hits and two RBI for Berry, which outhit the Tigers 11-9.
TJ Montgomery started but did not get a decision. He threw five innings, scattered four hits and gave up two runs (none earned). Chad Busby (2-1) was the pitcher of record in the eighth and he got the win. He completed two innings, gave up three hits and allowed one run.
Jack Rogers went 2-4 with a double to lead Sewanee batters.
Berry College hosts Transylvania next weekend. The teams play at 1 and 4 p.m. on Saturday and play one contest on Sunday.
