JACKSON, Miss. -- Berry College dropped a Southern Athletic Association doubleheader at Millsaps on Saturday. Game scores were 3-1 and 5-3.

BC fell to 17-7 and 6-2. The Majors improved to 16-7 and 7-7.

In game one, Rachel Bartoe knocked a solo home run to give BC a 1-0 lead in the third inning. The Majors got one run in the bottom of the third, and plated two more in the fifth for the final margin.

Shelby Smith went 2-2 with a double and one walk. Kayla Davis took the loss and dropped to 6-2 on the season.

In the nightcap, the Vikings outhit MC, 12-8, but were outscored, 5-3. Allie Coronado (4-3) took the defeat for Berry.

Brittany Ferrell was 4-4 with a run and one RBI to lead Viking hitters. Fellow freshmen Marie Collop and Savanna Wooten collected two hits for BC.

The SAA doubleheader sweep was the first suffered by Berry in the two seasons of the conference. The two teams play another doubleheader on Sunday.
