LaGRANGE, Ga. -- Berry College and LaGrange College split a doubleheader on Wednesday. The Vikings prevailed in the opener, 4-1, and the Panthers took the nightcap, 4-1.

Berry is now 5-1 and LaGrange is 1-1.

Rachel Bartoe busted open a 1-1 game with a three-run home run in the fourth inning. Her first collegiate dinger scored Marie Collop and pinch runner Courtney Cauthen.

Allie Coronado earned the complete game win for Berry. She struck out seven Panthers and allowed two walks. Coronado scattered two hits and a gave up one run.

The Vikings suffered their first defeat of the year in game two. Olivia Wolfe held BC to just two hits and got the win. Collop took the loss in the circle for Berry.

Brittany Ferrell and Haley Smith each had a base hit for the visitors.

Berry plays a doubleheader at Huntingdon College on Saturday.
