Vikings win rubber game and improves to 3-3

ROME, Ga. – Berry College baseball defeated Emory & Henry, 11-2, on Sunday at William R. Bowdoin Field.

With the win, BC took the rubber game of the three-game series and improved to 3-3 for the year. The Wasps dropped to 1-2 on the season.

Viking starting pitcher T.J. Montgomery threw five innings, allowed one run and scattered five hits. He moved to 1-1 on the year. Chad Busby tossed two hitless and scoreless innings. Braxton Teal followed with a scoreless eighth inning. Zach Dutton gave up one score in the ninth inning.

Berry scored in each of the first three innings and led 9-0 heading to the fourth frame. T.C. Boyd went 2-3 with a run and three RBI to lead BC hitters. Alex McGill had an RBI double for Berry.

Dusty Tyson had an interesting batting line: He went 1-2 with four runs scored and had one RBI. In addition to his single, Tyson walked once and reached base twice on hit-by-pitches.

Matthew McInaw (0-1) took the defeat for E&H. Jordan Woullard paced the Wasp offense with two hits.

BC host Bates College on Tuesday at 2 p.m.
