Box Score 2 ROME, Ga. -- Berry College split a doubleheader with visiting Emory & Henry on Saturday. The Vikings won game one, 1-0, and the Wasps took the nightcap, 4-1.
Berry is now 2-3 and E&H is 1-1.
Dough Heath started for BC in the first game. He tossed three innings, scattered two hits, struck out two and walked none. Ryan O'Connell (1-0) came on in relief and earned the win. He pitched the last four frames and allowed just one hit.
Like E&H, Berry also produced three hits. BC scored in the second inning. Zach Farmer reach on an error. Freshman Sam Joyce later grounded out to drive in Farmer for the unearned run.
In the nightcap, the Wasps plated two runs in the third inning off starter Bern Jernigan, who took the loss (1-1).
The Vikings responded with a run in the fourth. Alex McGill walked and Kevin Scott (2-3, RBI) drove him home for BC's lone tally.
The visitors added two unearend runs off freshman Hunter White in the seventh inning. Ty Hill pitch a complete game and got the win for the Wasps.
The Vikes and Wasps play one game on Sunday at noon.
