This Week's News: Berry College's Jackson Putnam, a freshman safety, was named to the D3Football.com Team of the Week. In a defensive battle vs. Millsaps College, Putnam forced three turnovers in the game. He recorded two interceptions for 41 return yards, had five tackles, a forced fumble and one pass breakup. Berry was edged 15-10 in the contest. He is the program's second player to earn D3FB TOW honors; Mitchell Blanchard earned the award on Oct. 23.

Last Year's Game: Berry squared off against Sewanee last year at Barron Stadium. The Tigers defeated the Vikings, 28-6, in Berry's last game of its inaugural season. Berry scored a touchdown from Adam Sandin to Will Chomskis on the last play of the contest. The Tigers effectively moved the ball on the ground with 255 rushing yards and two touchdowns. Cortez Brown led their team with 73 yards on 14 carries along with a touchdown. The Tigers intercepted three of Sandin's passes and corralled seven tackles for a loss. Anthony Batey led the team with 15 total tackles (12 solo). WR Chris Lilly had 165 yards on eight catches. Lilly averaged 20.6 yards a catch.

Berry Last Week: Berry tried to scare the Majors on Halloween, but Millsaps squeezed by with a 15-10 win. Berry gave up a safety just before halftime, but picked up a touchdown on a fumble recovery by Preston Stewart in the end zone. The Majors jumped ahead again with nine minutes left in the game on a one-yard run by Raphael Johnson. The Majors totaled 365 yards on offense compared to 169 for the Vikings. Jalen Tuggle recorded a season-high 80 rushing yards on 23 carries. Matt Farinella picked up 16 tackles to lead the Vikings.

Sewanee Outlook: Sewanee had a bye week last Saturday to recover from the Millsaps loss (38-20) two weeks ago. Against MC, Devante Jones led the Tigers with 165 rushing yards on 12 carries. He had a rushing long of 78 yards and scored one rushing touchdown. Jones also picked up the other touchdown on a 17-yard reception from Cody Daniel. The Tigers defense intercepted two passes and had a fumble recovery for 62 yards. The Majors tackled the Tigers behind the line ten times and forced one fumble.

Statistically Speaking: Berry has the second most passing yards in the SAA (221.6 YPG). Sewanee counters with the second most rushing yards (228.6) in the league. BC averages 18.8 points a game and Tigers score 16.9 points per game. The Vikings have 16 sacks and 13 interceptions.

Individual Stats: Dale Jackson is second in conference with 221.6 passing yards and 17 passing touchdowns. Chris Lilly is third in conference with 87.5 yards per game and second with six TD receptions. Farinella averages the second best in conference with 10.4 tackles. For Sewanee, Cody Daniel is second with 122.9 rushing yards per game, and fourth with eight rushing touchdowns.
