Berry men's soccer edges Warriors, 1-0

ROME, Ga. - - The Berry College men's soccer team won a tight game against Hendrix College, 1-0, at home on Friday afternoon. Bobby Grunow scored the lone goal of the game in the Viking victory.

The win improved the Vikings' record to 8-6 overall and 2-3 in the Southern Athletic Association. The loss dropped the Warriors to 3-12-1 and 0-4-1.

Although there were eleven shots combined between both teams in the first half, the score was tied, 0-0, at halftime.

The only goal of the game came in the 52nd minute when Grunow scored his second goal of the season off of a pass from Alex Rotoloni. Grunow headed-in a corner kick served by Rotoloni.

Even though they only found the back of the net once, the Vikings dominated in shots (19-9) and corner kicks (11-1).

Nathan Meyers held up the defense for the Warriors with nine saves in the loss.

Jon Nelson also had six saves for the Vikings in goal.

The Vikings look to pick up their second win in a row at home on Sunday, October 26 at 3:30 pm.
