MEMPHIS, Tenn. -- Emily Stromberg recorded a match-high 13 kills as Berry College defeated Rhodes College, 3-0, on Friday night. Set scores were 25-21, 25-14, 25-20.

The Vikings improved to 10-3 and 4-0 in the Southern Athletic Association. The Lynx fell to 3-12 and 2-2.

In the first set, Rhodes led early, but the Vikes finally tied the score at 15-15 before winning by four points. In the final set, BC raced to a 6-0 advantage, but the Lynx rallied to make it close.

While the match was an away game for the Vikings, there was a lot of support for Berry. The BC football team, which plays the Lynx on Saturday, was in attendance and provided a boost for the silver and blue.

"I thought we played with a lot of composure tonight," said Berry Head Coach Mika Robinson. "We were extremely aggressive, but also efficient offensively."

Catherine Grimes paced the Lynx with 12 kills.

The Vikings play at Hendrix on Saturday. The match begins at 6 p.m. EDT.
