ROME, Ga. – Berry College (7-3, 1-0) swept Sewanee in its first SAA game, 3-0. The set scores were 25-20, 25-15, and 25-22.
Berry's attack percentage bettered Sewanee's .200 to .099. Emily Stromberg earned 12 kills and 11 digs for BC. Katie O'Rourke added 11 kills and Stephanie Quinn netted 38 assists for Berry.
Sara Jayne Sutton had 13 digs for Sewanee (9-3, 0-1).
This game included Berry's drumline. "It was fantastic. The drumline added great energy and I hope it encourages fans to return to the games," said Berry's Head Coach Mika Robinson.
The next game is against Centre. "Sewanee has a strong blocking team, but Centre creates different challenges and a different style," said Robinson.
The Colonels and Vikings play at the Cage Center on Saturday at 2:00 p.m.
