Box Score 2 SAN ANTONIO, Texas -- Berry College split its two matches at the Trinity National Tournament on Friday. The Vikings rallied from a 2-0 deficit to upend DeSales, 3-2, and then fell to host Trinity, 3-0.
Set scores vs. DeSales were 18-25, 19-25, 25-15, 25-10 and 15-11. Emily Stromberg netted another double-double with 13 kills and 15 digs. Anna Keappler also had 13 kills and Stephanie Quinn paced the BC offense with 46 assists. The Vikings improved to 5-1 and DeSales fell to 3-2.
"I thought we showed a lot of heart from coming back from a 2-0 deficit to beat DeSales," said Berry Head Coach Mika Robinson. "Unfortunately, that put us at a disadvantage having face a very good Trinity team immediately thereafter."
Trinity won by scores of 25-16, 25-21 and 25-22. Keappler recorded 11 kills, Stromberg posted 14 digs, Quinn added 25 assists and 10 digs. The Tigers (8-2) out-hit Berry .239 to .115 in the match.
Berry (5-2) faces Hardin Simmons and Mary Hardin Baylor on Saturday.
