Box Score

ROME, Ga. -- Five different players recorded points as Berry College defeated visiting Agnes Scott, 3-1, at Ford Field on Wednesday.

The Vikings improved to 4-1 and ASC dropped to 0-2.

Freshman Maggie Midkiff blasted a left-footed shot to the far corner in the 21st minute to get Berry on the scoreboard. In the 44th minute, Sara Dillon tallied off a pass from Kim Fischer to put the home club ahead 2-0, which was the halftime score.

The Scotties earned their first and only corner kick of the game in the 71st minute. The ball caromed off to Maddie Shaul, who shot  and scored. It was ASC's lone shot on goal.

Just three minutes later, however, Berry got breathing room. Lindsey Williams scored off an assist from Tessa Piety for the match's final goal.

Berry dominated in shots (32-2) and corner kicks (15-1). Melissa Sanchez played the first half and got the win. Brooke Clement played the last 45 minutes in goal for BC.

"We scored three nice goals and had many more chances, too," said Berry Head Coach Lorenzo Canalis.

The Vikings play East Texas Baptist in the Mississippi College Tournament on Friday.
