Box Score 2 CONWAY, Ark. – Berry College took two games at Hendrix on Friday. The Vikings won game one, 23-3, and prevailed in the nightcap, 9-5.
BC improved to 19-7, and 11-3 in the Southern Athletic Association. Hendrix fell to 17-7 and 7-3.
Berry set program records for runs (23) and hits (23) in game one. The visitors tallied in every inning and scored eight runs in the fifth frame.
Sara Vigue had five hits, which tied a BC record. She went 5-5 with a home run, three runs, and four RBI.
Lindsey Campbell and Kristen Stoll each collected three hits. Natalie Boyd knocked her first homer of the year, and Lacey Herring added four RBI for Berry.
Caillee Shamoun (8-2) got the win in the five-inning contest. She allowed two earned runs and struck out five hitters.
The Vikings scored four runs in the top of the first inning in game two and never looked back.
Allison Coronado, who tossed the final four innings in relief of Boyd, earned the win and improved to 5-3 for the season. She allowed three runs, but just one was earned.
Abby Daniels went 3-4 with a double and two RBI. Vigue notched two more hits, including a triple.
The teams play another doubleheader on Saturday afternoon at Hendrix.
