Box Score MEMPHIS, Tenn. -- Alex McGill and Stephen Gaylor both had four hits as Berry College defeated Rhodes, 9-6, at Stauffer Field on Friday.
Gaylor was 4-4 with two runs, two stolen bases and 2 RBI. McGill went 4-5 with 2 doubles and 3 RBI. Grant Perkins collected three singles for the Vikes, which had 16 hits in the game.
Berry, which halted a 3-game skid, improved to 13-14 and 10-5 in the Southern Athletic Association. Rhodes dropped to 17-12, 8-4.
The Vikings trailed 5-1 after four innings. The visitors, however, then plated four runs in both the fifth and sixth frames en-route to the win.
Ben Jernigan (1-1) got the win for BC. He tossed three innings, allowed one run, a hit, and struck out four batters. Danny Parry worked the final two innings for Berry and earned his second save of the season.
Lynden Pindling collected 3 hits for Rhodes.
Berry next travels to Huntingdon for a three-game series which begins on April 5.
