Box Score 2 MEMPHIS, Tenn. -- The Berry College baseball team dropped a doubleheader at Rhodes College on Thursday. Rhodes won the first game 4-0 and the second game 15-5.
Berry dropped to 12-14 and 9-5 in the SAA. Rhodes improved to 17-11, 8-3.
In game one, the Lynx plated two runs in each of the first two innings en route to a 4-0 victory. Casey Gray took the loss for the Vikings. Christian Champion threw two perfect innings to close the game for BC. Berry had four hits in the game, including a double by Grant Perkins.
Jackson Baker threw a complete game nine inning shutout in the first game for Rhodes and got his sixth win of the year. At the plate, Josh Keen went 3-3 with two walks, six RBIs, and two runs scored for RC.
In the nightcap, the Vikings recorded 11 hits in the game. Will Heard went 2-3 with 2 RBI for Berry. Stephen Gaylor; Zach Farmer and Kevin Scott had two hits apiece for the visitors. Gaylor and Farmer both doubled. Starter Chad Busby (2-1) took the defeat on the mount.
Josh Keen led the Lynx offense in the second game going 3-3 with 6 RBIs, 2 runs scored, and walked twice.
Rhodes and Berry play the third and final game of the series on Friday at 3 p.m. at Auto Zone Park.
