by Connor Garrett for Berryvikings.com

ROME, Ga. –  Daniel Staursky scored in the first overtime to lift visiting Millsaps to a 2-1 win over Berry College on Friday. Staursky knocked in a loose ball which BC goalkeeper Logan Hill got a hand on, but could not contain.

The loss ended a seven-match unbeaten streak for the Vikings. Both teams now have records of 8-5-2 and 3-1-1 in SAA play.

Eight minutes into the first half, Millsaps' Javier Garcia streaked through the midfield and played a ball into Lucas Elmhammar, who finished from outside the box.

Berry fought hard to even the score, but Millsaps held a 1-0 lead through the first half despite allowing many shots against.

In the 72nd minute Matt Majestic received a ball in the box. Defenders crowded the space in front of him, but he managed the goal unassisted after successive attempts.

The Vikings gained momentum quickly after the game was tied 1-1. In the final minutes of regulation play Berry had many near misses that would have earned them the win.

Millsaps' keeper Jonathan Huebbe had two saves and one goal against. Hill had two saves and two goals against.

The Vikings next game is at home on Sunday against Birmingham-Southern. The senior day match begins at 1 p.m.
